Devotionals

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Brothers in Christ, this monthly devotional is sent and meant to be an encouragement to all and to build up and edify in the Lord Jesus Christ. Oikodome means "Builder". The Lord has put this on my heart to send out a monthly Iron Man Oikodome {oy-kod-om-ay'} to build up and encourage the men who love and follow Jesus Christ in their walk with Him.
Hebrews 3:13 "But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."

“EARLY INHERITANCE”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

"Behold, children [are] a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb [is] a reward (Psalm 127:3 NKJV).”

Imagine if your children could really know how much you love them. If you could manifest the totality of your love for them to see and receive in one expression. What would be the ramification? Children are a gift from the Lord, yet it seems sometimes they don’t know how valuable they are to us and maybe in times we don’t fully realize this either. And sometimes they can’t or won’t receive all the love we have for them (much in the same way sometimes we can’t or won’t see that love that God has for us) it is equally hard for us to express that big love we have for them. God showed us His great love for us by giving us the greatest gift Jesus Christ His Son who bore our sins, shame, and punishment. He took our place and died for our sins as an expression of His great love for us, He loved us that much. How can we show our children how much we love them? By acknowledging the Giver of those precious gifts and living a life that always points and looks to the One true and living God- Jesus Christ Lord and Savior and by letting His love shine through us that they may see that manifestation of His love in our lives and see that we are living a life for Jesus that expresses our appreciation, thankfulness and gratitude for what He did for us on Calvary. He loves us so much that He gave us children to love, nurture, bless, protect, equip, train, discipline, encourage, spoil, and love them so much we are willing to introduce them on a daily basis moment by moment to the One who is the Giver of those good gifts and even more so was a Gift to us all. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17 NKJV)” And yet the Greatest Gift is Jesus that we could ever receive "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16 NKJV).” True love from the Father! Children are an early inheritance gift to us because Jesus loves us so much, let’s love our children by way of Christ and let that be their inheritance our love-His love, amen!

“YOKING UP”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30"For My yoke [is] easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:29-30NKJV).”

When we work side by side we learn, really we learn to work together, but especially we can learn being yoked to the Master. When we submit to Jesus and walk with Him and allow Him to take our burdens we will find rest for our souls. Jesus wants us to cast our cares and burdens unto Him. To let Him have the full load, to trust Him, to rest in Him to give all our cares to the One who is able to do all things. Back in the olden days when farmers would train young blood oxen for plowing or work, they would pair it with an older experienced ox. They yoked them together and the older more mature experienced oxen carried the load and allowed the younger inexperienced oxen to receive on the job training, tutoring one on one instruction by doing what the older oxen did, of course they did not have any choice once they were yoked up together… But the Lord wants to lighten our burdens and His yoke is easy. The Lord is not going to make everything difficult for us but rather make is easy He loves us and is compassionately seeking to draw us to Him with the promise that His yoke is easy and the same way the older more mature oxen carries the bulk of the load for the younger inexperienced oxen is what the Lord wants to do for us to lighten our load. He is not going to kill us by over working us or make it harder for us but He wants to take our load, those things we may be burdened with today whether they are burdens others might have placed on us in  expectations of us or have placed on us at work or in daily living or burdens in the way others think we should be or act, or respond in a certain situation or burdens placed on us by way of perceived notions of how we should be conducting ourselves or burdens we have perhaps picked up along the roadway of life or placed on ourselves. Jesus wants us to be yoking up with Him, to bring it to Him whatever we are going through, we don’t have to be under the gun or have so much pressure on us trying to be living for Him, but rather resting in Him. He has all the answers, He knows how things can weigh us down and He wants to pull the load for us or make it easier by bringing it to Him and allowing us to take His yoke upon us and let Him be responsible for these burdens of life and allowing us to learn from Him. He still may allow us to carry the burden but at least it will be lighter because of Him and we can be stoked by His yoke.

“SLUICE

  Dear Bros in Christ,

"Whoever [has] no rule over his own spirit [Is like] a city broken down, without walls. Proverbs 25:28 NKJV).”

Ever notice when you stumble upon a town that is broken down with lawlessness, everything is run amok and there is no authority over it, there is no law or the laws that are in existence are virtually not enforced and that city or town is destroyed from within. There is lawlessness of every form running rampant, no order, no control, no rule hence the place turns in to a run down town. It’s like all the good has been let out someone opened the gate and let it out…. Much the same way if we are left unchecked or running on our flesh with no input from Gods Word, prayer time, fellowship, accountability, being Spirit filled and led and obeying Gods Word, walking in His truth- His Holy Spirit we will become drained and empty in our walk with Him, we might be following the Lord from afar like Peter did right before he denied Christ three times. We are going to be broken down and become poor in our walk with the Lord when we should be sluicy rich flowing in His goodness, His rich blessings, tender mercies, His big love, His forgiveness, His faithfulness, His favor and His grace- unmerited favor when we let Him rule in us, when we walk in His Spirit in obedience and submission letting His authority rule over us and in us and through us. We won’t be without His wall of protection around us. It is easy to let it happen, to get broken down a little compromise, a little folding of the hands, miss church a few times, skip a prayer meeting or two, don’t go to the men’s Bible study, never making time for the bros to fellowship or break bread and cutting the personal devotion and prayer time down because you want to sleep in a little… Bros you can make your own slum and walk in a slum style spirit, torn down from the frown down, tore up from the feet up, walking in defeat like a little flesh filled slum lord or you can let God have total domain and He can totally make you Ghetto (street meaning– *super cool (*Not meant or used herein in an egotistical way or describing any neighborhood but in a godly way super cool) God values you and me and we are worth it to Him not because of any good thing that dwells in us but because of his grace, unmerited favor that is why we should want to follow His ways and have his authority in our lives and be under His authority and His influence. Lord help us to rule over our spirit that we may walk in your Holy Spirit and not hinder the flow with our flesh. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law (Gal 5:22-23 NKJV)”. When we walk in the fruit of the Spirit- Gods way, against such there is no law so when we are under His authority following His Ways there is perfect rule in our lives and the fruit of the Spirit will be the evidence of that existence of His rule in our lives and we won’t be like a broken down city but like a city on a hill shining brightly for Jesus. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14 NKJV).” You won’t have to be bored being a slum lord, but blessed out of your gourd when you have rule over your own spirit and truly let Jesus reign in your heart. We don’t have to let Gods goodness and His ways flow away from us but flow in and through us and our lives by being filled with His Holy Spirit and walking in His rich mercies, following His ways and leaning on Him not our ways and being obedient to Him who is God alone- amen!

“COURAGE”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

“The lazy [man] says, "[There is] a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!" (Proverbs 22:13 NKJV).”

Have you ever met someone who always discourages themselves or foretells something ahead of time as if they know? What I mean to say have you run across that person that will always discount themselves by way of saying ahead of time that they won’t be able to do such and such in a few days because of the way they might be feeling today. When there is ministry service coming up or opportunity to serve the Lord in a few days or next week someone might say I am not feeling well right now and I don’t think I will be able to serve next week or it might be that they think they know something is going to come up to prevent them from serving. It’s like they are setting themselves up, preconditioning themselves and telling themselves that they will be sick or unable to serve, they are planning on knowing that they will be unable to do so, walking in defeat. As if they know the lion will be outside if they go out there… And have you ever been walking by a mirror and saw a glimpse of that person that is predicting how they will feel or how they will not be able to serve or do something in the future next week. Instead of committing and applying our hearts to seeking, asking and serving God if He gives us next week or tomorrow would He allow us to serve or be used and can we please have the privilege and honor of serving Him and the strength to do just that. Instead of having the defeated attitude of being slain in our mind, wounded in our heart, our service, our ministry and attitude before we get to next week or tomorrow or outside. And bros I know there are those who suffer chronic illnesses and continuous pain and are unable to do things and are in pain nine out of ten days or all the time, not referring to those who suffer such illnesses. But for those of us who have let the spirit of laziness creep in God will make us Lion slayers if we have the Courage to ask He is willing to listen because He cares, don’t be afraid to go where He is calling you if that spirit of laziness has crept in bros.

7casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world (1Peter 5:7-9 NKJV)”

Nothing is too big or hard for our God “He is large & in charge” Creator of the heavens, the earth, the sea, & every living creature- so call on God & ask for Courage go outside & to the highways & byways to serve, witness, minister & be used mightily by God Almighty amen!

“ON BOARD”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. (PSALM 139:23-24 NKJV).”

In other words Lord check me, search my heart see if there is anything that does belong here and remove those sins and things not pleasing to You or that do not honor You Lord. Bros talking about any sin, any weight, any temptation or habit or action that does not honor God.

Maybe there is something that is hanging unto you, some sin that you want to ask the Lord to remove; you just have not been able to shake it from you in your own power.

You can shake it off today like Paul did when he was on the Island Malta he laid a bundle of sticks on the fire and a viper came out because of the heat from the fire and fastened onto his hand and he shook the deadly viper off his hand into the fire and let it burn up, it tried to drag him down, tried to take his life and keep him from serving by poisoning his system but he shook it off by the power of Jesus Christ. Sometimes we do not fully realize it only takes a little poison to kill our walk, to hinder our love for others, pollute our souls and make us ineffective so as to lose our boldness for Christ, to wound us in the things of God, to not be able to minister in the things of God it comes on like a disease spreading throughout our system affecting our very lives and families taking our souls and robbing us little by little squeezing the joy and life right out of our very souls rendering us useless in the Kingdom of God. Choking us off from the One who we were created by and for His good pleasure.

Thus, creating a separation from Him that can only be changed by true repentance. Maybe there is that sin thing or a lot of sin things that are sinking you or that is dragging you down keeping you from serving the Lord or being used by God and you are so tired from trying everything you know to shake this poisonous viper off or kick this interloper out so Jesus can be fully on board in your system. Ask Jesus to turn up the heat of the fire in your heart- to search you and to know your heart and bring out that viper. He knows you bros, He knows who and what is ON BOARD in your heart, let Him have His perfect way with you and perfect you today. Make this the year, the month, the day, the hour, the minute and the very second that you let Jesus remove and shake off whatever sin is ON BOARD trust in Him and let Jesus reign in your heart fully and make a choice bros to let Jesus fully ON BOARD.

“OH SO BEAUTIFUL”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

“PRAISE the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful (Psalm 147:1 NKJV).”

When we sing praises to the Lord it is good and so beautiful. Our hearts rejoice at worshipping the Lord in praise. Have you ever just got so lifted up in worshipping the Lord with all your heart, soul, body, mind, & strength? To the point you lost conscious track of time and surroundings and really entered into such worship as to worship the Lord with reckless abandonment crying out communing with the Lord as one, where you let go, and let God minister deep in your soul as you cry out in worship lost completely in Him. Those times where you find yourself alone and you enter in to that place of sweet worship where it is just you and the Lord and there is no thought of anything else, no intrusions, no noise or visual distractions where you make the Lord all that your utmost attention and very being can possibly muster. The place that you completely surrender yourself and bring yourself into complete and utter submission as to worship and commune with our Holy God from your interior most being. Where you feel the tears weeping right out of your heart as you are crying out in sweet surrender, praise and worship to our Lord Jesus Christ. And you feel the Lord ministering right there in the depths of your heart as you sing out praises and it is pleasant and the praise is beautiful. How sweet it is, oh yes so beautiful, yes rejoice, thank you Lord right now and for that day when we will forever worship You, Oh So Beautiful!

“PURE GOLD”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

“The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass (Revelation 21:21 NKJV).”

A Bro who was my very best friend always said “you are pure gold bub” whenever he liked something you said or did or would just remind you of the friendship you both had with each other he would say that you were pure gold to him. That was the highest compliment when you heard that from him and he meant it too. He always made others feel like pure gold when they were around him or talked to them. But he was the real “Pure Gold”! I took great comfort and joy at his memorial service a few years ago this month as I heard numerous close friends share story after story about how he used to say that to them and the impact it had on them. I think when someone says you are pure gold they are saying that you have great value to them and nothing could be better than you, like you are the best, the purest, can’t be any better. They hold you in high regard, extreme value and your worth to them and friendship is not in any diluted form but of pure form, not that you are somebody or something in a prideful way but you are really something very special to them and you are greatly valued in their heart and they express it in the purest form they can ascribe to it and that is “Pure Gold” does not get any better than that.  And that is the way my friend expressed his love towards those he loved by referring to them as “Pure Gold” that was his standard of measure of love to those who were close to him. And by the way I can just imagine him standing in this street of gold up in heaven totally mesmerized and saying these words “Pure Gold”… I can hear him now as I think of how his voice sounded when he uttered these sweet words to those he loved and now he is being blessed by the Lord who thinks he is Pure Gold.

And in many ways as we look at the Word of God we see Pure Gold as a high standard throughout the Bible it occurs forty five times and is used mostly to describe most all the items in the sanctuary that were either pure gold or overlaid with pure gold. God used the best for the tabernacle and inner sanctuary articles. The purest materials were used, they made pure gold (removed all the impurities/dross), and they gave their best and used their best for the tabernacle and inner sanctuary because this was an offering to God so they could make Him a sanctuary. When we read about the tabernacle and inner sanctuary we cannot fathom how awesome this must have looked to see this much pure gold in one place. I mean it must have been mind blowing to see that beautiful holy sanctuary, there is not a word that can describe or be used to bear the awesomeness of this sight to behold. We would all be awestruck I am sure of the beauty and splendor of Gods sanctuary and “The Holy of Holies”. Just try to imagine this sight and the utter magnitude of standing there and not being worthy to be there and even see it. How the best materials, the brightest purest gold was the standard that was used not because it equals Gods awesomeness or can compare to how Awesome and Mighty He is or be used to signify that that level of purity meets Gods standards or sets standard of measure which we may measure Him because nothing meets that criteria but because that was the standard that He requested and required.

And to think upon this for a few moments and realize pure gold is that which God used and required for His sanctuary and a standard that is equated with greatness and beauty and splendor and majesty, pure gold this is what He asked and required when He spoke to Moses to speak to the children of Israel. And you think how great and totally awesome the Lord is and what a high and great standard that is and realizing the pureness and beauty of this and knowing that Gods standards are high and yet we fall so short of His standards everyday. And we could not meet this requirement by being pure in any sense of the meaning of the word. But yet we are made as pure gold so to speak by removing the dross, our sins, by the washing of the blood of Jesus Christ we receive cleansing & forgiveness of our sins, we are made to meet Gods standard through Christ our Redeemer. We have a lot to be thankful of bros; we are pure gold to the Lord, we are constantly in His thoughts, we are held in high regard, we are precious to Him and to use my friend’s quote we are “Pure Gold” I believe unto the Lord because He loves us so much. He values us because He is always thinking about us; “Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered (Psalm 40:5 NKJV)”.

Even His offering that He spoke to Moses about to speak the children of Israel about that they bring Him an offering; He reserves a likeness of this offering that was given but far greater for us in heaven, not only to walk on the street of pure gold but be in the city of Pure Gold and that is accomplished only through our Lord & Savior Christ Jesus and only then can we be in this city of “Pure Gold” and walk on this street of “Pure Gold”.

“The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass (Revelation 21:18 NKJV)”.

“And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass (Revelation 21:21 NKJV).”

Bro He thinks of you always and values you more than you could ever imagine, think of the value He has placed on you, so much so that He gave His life in your place, so you would not have to feel the eternal pain and suffering for the sins you did commit… see you are very valuable to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, more than Pure Gold.

“RELEVANT”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV).”

Most in today’s world strive to be relevant in everything whether it be the way they act or the way they talk or the words they would use and even the clothes they wear. Some think if they wear hip fashions it keeps them relevant with the younger generation or maybe some designer glasses or a little hair color or maybe a rug or the places they hang out just to look and be relevant… Praise God that His Word is always relevant no matter the messenger He sends to bring it forth, so we don’t have to be hip, slick and cool to minister through Gods Word. God can use us just as we are, whether we are a geek, out of style, guilty of multiple fashion faux pas, goofy looking, the world may judge us by our coolness but praise the Lord He looks at the inward man our heart thank you Jesus. So minister to whoever Gods puts in front of you with all confidence that God is going to use you right where you are at… “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow” and that is right where our hearts need to be at knowing He never changes, He is never out of style, He is never stale, He is never old, outdated, expired or past the use by date, He is never late, He is never terminal and He is never irrelevant! He is always relevant and has the power to give those that are without Him a reborn again nature and spirit making them brand new as in New creations in Christ. And that is how the Lord made us permanently relevant too! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).” So Bros you want to be relevant share Jesus walk and go in the relevance of the Lord Jesus Christ -Amen!

“THE COST OF WISDOM & UNDERSTANDING”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

“But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? (Job 28:12 NKJV)”

Job observes in chapter 28 that wisdom cannot be discovered by man like it is some great precious material resource located in the depths of the earth waiting for man to search deeper until he finds or discovers it and lays claim to it. Wisdom does not come in that manner; we cannot mine it in that we would attain it by bulk like all those things that come from the depths of the earth the resources we use in our daily lives; salt, coal, precious stones, copper, ore, and metals just to name a few or even the oil drilled for in the depths. If only gaining wisdom were that simple we would all be wise men already and we wouldn’t even have to wait until we grew old enough that we could grow a long white beard!... Even if man searched out darkness and every recess to discover it he couldn’t. We cannot even grow or harvest it like some plentiful crop grown from seedlings. Though man could mine for it, he couldn’t produce wisdom in a hundred life times… Man can search Gods creation inside to the darkest depths, even rearranging it, yet it will not avail him wisdom, oh he will see Gods wisdom in His design and all His creation, but man cannot discover wisdom. Even though he could mine through the center core of the earth from one end of the globe to the other end he couldn’t attain it. Man goes all out to dig out precious metals and resources out of the depths of the earth… How far will he go and how deep will he go to find the wisdom that comes from God?

Of course as believers we know that wisdom does not come from man and but most in the world don’t or cannot ever realize this. No matter how much man studies his ways or his books, mans ways are foolishness to the Lord. Gods wisdom is higher than that, plus mans own limited ability even to put together a course of his so called intelligence and wisdom and think that he could teach the wisdom that is Gods alone, man cannot attain it by his ways, nor can man teach others Gods wisdom from his own ways, it is too high, too lofty for man. You can show someone God’s wisdom- but you can’t give them God’s wisdom, only God can give wisdom.

“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men (1Corinthians 1:25 NKJV)”. “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their own craftiness; (1Corinthians 3:19 NKJV)…”

Most all of us have paid a price by and through the graciousness of the Lord to learn the cost of wisdom that comes from the fear of the Lord which is to hate evil, through having lived our sinful lives before coming to Christ, but never so great a price as the Lord has paid for each one of us, to learn that wisdom does indeed come from Him! “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7 NKJV)”. Bros notice that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and that knowledge is wisdom, if that fear of the Lord is to hate evil and everything that is unrighteous before the Lord… Seeking and knowing God is the beginning of learning wisdom…Because you have to know God intimately to realize how much that He hates evil and wickedness and that all sin is unrighteousness…

Paraphrasing what Job said in sharing that God understands wisdoms way and He knows its place, He can see the whole earth in one sweep of a glance in other words the ability to see under the total expanse of the heavens, He gave the wind a weight so it could blow, yet it is weightless, God measured out the waters yet we cannot measure them, He set up laws for the rain to obey, created the paths for thunderbolts… God understands its way and knows its place “Then he saw wisdom and declared it; He prepared it, indeed. He searched it out. And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, (Job28:28 NKJV)…”

What can fear of the Lord mean to us exactly? Do you fear God? Does it mean that we don’t want to go about doing things that are displeasing to the Lord, practicing wickedness and evil things that are against His will for our lives? Does it mean to us that we shouldn’t want to go back to the way we once were before coming to the Lord? Does it mean to not go the way of the world? The flesh? Does it mean that we somehow forget what God delivered us from when He brought us up out of that slimy pit?

Does it mean that God the Father who loves you so much and would do anything for you including sending His Son Jesus to take your place on the cross, for your sins, that you would never forget, and see, and receive the wisdom from God in that great sacrifice for you, that affords you to be washed by His blood, cleansed, and forgiven of our filthy stinking sins, and would allow you to never forget that love, and apply that to your understanding. God had the wisdom to make the Way for all of us to get saved, can you see the wisdom in that bro, when we look at and meditate on what He did we can see there is no other way, we could never come to that conclusion in our own wisdom had not the Lord created and revealed the Way for us to be forgiven of our sins and saved by His Own blood that was shed, and washed us clean from our sins, on Calvary.  That we ought to have reverence for the Lord God Almighty and obey, observe, consider, seek, watch, pray, take a look at, worship, view, see, regard, follow, study, realize, think about and believe and accept as true the fear of the Lord, to hate evil and wickedness that is wisdom or at least the beginning…

We ought to know God intimately always and desire to grow more intimate with Him everyday through prayer, personal Bible devotional study, meditating on His Word and rightly applying His Word in wisdom in our lives, in all our goings out and comings in. Bros, God desires to lead us in all things and for us to follow Him and seek Him in all things. He desires to lead us in His wisdom but we can only walk in His wisdom if we are following Him. I absolutely fear to go back to the place where I was going through life without Jesus, where I despised wisdom and instruction. I could not do that now that I know the truth and found and know and have believed and received Jesus.

7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward (Psalm 19:7-11)”.

Search and find Wisdom only in the Lord Jesus Christ! God bless you Bros!

“COMMIT TO MEMORY”

  Dear Bros in Christ,

“Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, And lay up His words in your heart (Job 22:22 NKJV).”

Bros memorizing Gods Word can help each one of us in our daily walk with the Lord.

His Word can keep you from sinning; hide His Word in your hearts bros… “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11 NKJV).”

His Word can provide comfort in times of difficulty, think and remember on His Word, it can save you in those times… “I remembered Your judgments of old, O LORD, And have comforted myself’ “92Unless Your law had been my delight, I would then have perished in my affliction (Psalm 119:52, 92 NKJV).”

His Word helps keep your mind and focus on God, that He would be your spotlight and that you would step into the heart of His light and be surrounded and led by His truth and brought into that intimate holy place of communion with the Lord…

“Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle (Psalm 43:3 NKJV).”

His Word can provide our daily sustenance for spiritual life, sometimes we are humbled, let suffer a little, yet not starved so that we would know we can not live by food alone, but by His every Word…“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD (Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV).”

His Word can provide guidance in all situations of life, obedience taught from our youth, written into our hearts, carried throughout our lives wherever we go, when we rest we are held and maintained by them, led by them and they are always speaking to us, they provide a way and a light, correction has paved a way for us…“20My son, keep your father's command, And do not forsake the law of your mother. 21Bind them continually upon your heart; Tie them around your neck. 22When you roam, they will lead you; When you sleep, they will keep you; And when you awake, they will speak with you. 23For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

(Proverbs 6:20-23 NKJV).”

His Word provides the basis for informal and formal instruction of your children… and when we can memorize Scripture we can be sharing with our children continually wherever we go or wherever we are at this moment throughout the day…

"6And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart’. 7"You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up (Deuteronomy 6:6,7).”
